This error message occurs when you attempt to install a new application; it is a generic term that can be caused by several issues.

Try the following steps to resolve the problem
Stop all running programs as they may interfere with the installation process.
It is often caused when there is not enough space on the hard drive, free up hard drive space using the Disk Cleanup utility in windows.
- Right click C: drive, properties, tools, disk cleanup.
The Temp directory is not clean or it is full, delete all temporary files.
- Navigate to C:\tmp and make sure there are no files in this folder.
Make sure you have administrative privileges on the system account; some files may be locked and cannot be overwritten.
