My Computer Won’t Shut Down after Installing XP

Many people have noticed that their computer will no longer shut down automatically without pressing the power off button. There could be several reasons for this, but the main reason appears to be that ACPI is disabled. So here is something you can try to fix this problem.

  2. Click on APM > Enable Advanced Power Management Support.

This is not guaranteed to work, and if you find the problem to be particularly persistent, download this registry cleaner and scan your computer for potential errors and fix any that appears.

Most problems in Windows appear due to improper registry maintenance, so be sure you take proper care of the registry to avoid system errors.
